What can I bring? It’s the eternal dilemma of every thoughtful guest. Whether it’s a birthday party, picnic, rooftop hang, dinner party, or weekend brunch, showing up empty-handed feels wrong—but figuring out what to bring can be just plain stressful.

Enter Casey Elsass—veteran food writer, beloved guest and behind-the-scenes cookbook whisperer known in the industry as the “cookbook doula.” After ghostwriting, coauthoring, and guiding authors through the creative process, he’s finally stepping out from behind the curtain. In his long-awaited solo debut, What Can I Bring?: Recipes to Help You Live Your Guest Life.

Casey will be joined in conversation by award-winning cookbook author Dorie Greenspan for a lively discussion about food, friendship, and the art of showing up with something special.
