Event Details

Debate Club is a new offering for teens at Darien Library! The club is led by New Canaan High School Senior, Emma Hassan, a debate team captain and Connecticut Debate Association State finalist. Teens will hone their confidence and leadership skills in this program.

"As the captain of my high school’s debate team and the winner of last year’s Connecticut Debate Association State Finals, I’ve seen firsthand how debate can empower students with confidence, clarity, and leadership skills. I also founded a debate club at my local middle school and have spent the past two summers working at a camp focused on teaching debate—experiences that have shaped my ability to teach effectively across age groups and experience levels."
