Program Description

Event Details

Attention adults: it’s the 250th anniversary of the American War of Independence and the US Army. Come compete in a World War II game centered around D-Day!

Participate in a strategy-based game using painted miniature figures and terrained boards. Learn a little history and have some fun! John is an expert from HMGS Next Gen, Inc., whose purpose is to promote the study of military history through the art of tabletop miniature wargaming.

The town of Sainte Mere Eglise played a significant part in the WWII Normandy landings because of its position on a road which the Germans would have used to counterattack Allied landings on Utah and Omaha Beaches.. In the early morning of 6 June 1944, mixed units of the U.S. 82nd Airborne and 101st Airborne Divisions occupied the town, making it one of the first towns liberated in the invasion.
