It's Shakespeare On The Sound's 30th Anniversary this year in Rowayton's Pinkney Park. This year's presentation is William Shakespeare's popular comedy, Much Ado About Nothing. Join John Love, Shakespeare on the Sound board member and resident expert, as he dives into everything you would want to know about the play!
Much Ado About Nothing, celebrating Shakespeare on the Sound's 30th annual summer production in Rowayton's Pinkney Park, will run from June 14th through June 28th. The production is directed by David Frederick Mold.
About Shakespeare on the Sound
In 1996 a group of Rowayton residents came up with a bold idea: producing a full-length version of a play by William Shakespeare, with professional actors and production values. It was Rowayton's own Shakespeare in the Park—Pinkney Park. For their inaugural production the board chose Shakespeare's festive comedy Much Ado About Nothing. For their 30thanniversary production they are bringing Much Ado About Nothing back to the Park.
About the Presenter
Former Shakespeare On The Sound board member John Love first came to Darien Library in May 2022 to talk about King John, that summer's production, and he has been back to talk about As You Like It, Romeo And Juliet and Macbeth. During his 40 years teaching English in secondary schools, he has taught a baker's dozen of the plays of Shakespeare, and is glad of the chance to talk about his favorite Shakespeare play, Much Ado!
John began studying Shakespeare as an English major at Brown University, and went on to earn a Ph.D in Renaissance literature at UNC-Chapel Hill.
