Meet the Storytellers

Saul Fussiner is a produced screenwriter and long-time storyteller. He is the Chair in Creative Writing at the Educational Center for the Arts, and he sometimes produces and hosts a storyteller and singer-songwriter series called Songs and Stories at Next Door.

Always a story-listener, Wendy Marans first told a story in 2014, at New Haven’s Institute Library Tellabration, and that began a journey. Her stories stem from the Derbyshire Dales to Sri Lanka, and places in between. Wendy has told throughout CT, and on occasion in NY Moth slams. Her stories often involve humor and empathy for the complexity of just being human.

Denise Keyes Page tells stories that transform, stories of being in the skin we’re in, of shared humanity to dispel “otherness”, of being a girl, a woman, a daughter, a sister, a lover, a mother and a friend. Stories told to unite, inspire. Others say “Denise brings stories from the heart, stories of joy and triumph and failures, of love and betrayal of anger and forgiveness."

Denise Santisteban has been working in performing arts her entire life and has always loved how stories enhance people’s lives. She is a member of the Institute Library Story Sharing Group and Unbuntu Storytellers. She has told at Tellabrations, The Mouth Off, Songs and Stories, New Haven Storytellers, Story City Troupe, ASST and for the National Storytelling Network. As part of the team at the International Festival of Arts & Ideas, she is the curator for Stories Programs.

A love of stories has found Bekah Wright conveying them on various mediums, including journalism, film/TV, animation Virtual Reality, and novels. With a move to Connecticut in 2021 she was introduced to the world of storytelling. Happily, her life hasn’t been the same since.
