No airplane ticket necessary:  if you couldn't make it to Italy to experience the 59th Venice Biennale you can now experience it virtually! This year’s large-scale contemporary International Art Exhibition was curated by Cecilia Alemani, who is also the curator of the High Line in New York City. The theme of this year’s Biennale is “The Milk of Dreams.”  The title, (Il Latte Dei Sogni, in Italian) was originally a book written by the late Mexican surrealist artist and novelist, Leonora Carrington.

We will "enter" several pavilions in the central exhibition known as the Giardini. Our itinerary will include a stop at Sonia Boyce’s exhibition in the Great Britain pavilion and at Simone Leigh's at the USA pavilion.  Both artists are recipients of the prestigious "Golden Lion" prize. Following the Giardini, we will make our way (without standing in the heat waiting for a water taxi) to the former dockyards now called the Arsenale. Following the Arsenale area, we will visit exhibitions in Palazzos spread about the city and on some islands of the Venetian Lagoon. At the Palazzo Ducale, we will see the work of Anselm Kiefer. All in all, there are 213 artists from 58 countries participating in this year’s Biennale.

She has worked for many years for Investment Banks including Goldman Sachs and Merrill Lynch.  When first starting her professional career she didn’t want to risk making ends meet in the art world. These events include art fair walkthroughs, studio, museum, auction house and gallery visits. During the pandemic Ronnit presented over 300 zoom lectures on a variety of topics.
