Storytimes

A Lifelong Love of Reading Begins at Birth

Our storytimes appeal to a child's natural sense of curiosity through play, songs, and storytelling.

Studies have shown that early literacy skills create a strong foundation when learning how to read. Darien Library storytimes provide a fun and engaging experience for pre-readers and their caregivers.

Three Ways to Read Together

Start at Home

You are likely already building the key skills needed for early literacy. The skills are talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing.

Stop by the Children's Library to ask for ideas on how to include these skills in your child's daily routine.

Attend a Storytime

Storytimes are for babies, toddlers, and children up to age 5. The Children's Library offers other programs for children up to age 12.
